Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced a second interim dividend of ₹12 per equity share for the financial year 2026-27, giving shareholders another payout as the IT major released its September-quarter financial results.
The dividend was approved by the company’s board following its second-quarter performance. The payout is applicable to shareholders whose names appear in the company’s records on the specified record date.
TCS Dividend Record Date
TCS has fixed October 14, 2026 as the record date for determining shareholders eligible to receive the ₹12 interim dividend. Investors holding TCS shares as per the applicable eligibility requirements will qualify for the payout.
The latest dividend continues the company’s practice of making regular distributions to shareholders through interim and final dividends. TCS has maintained a consistent dividend policy over the years, with interim payouts forming an important part of its shareholder-return strategy.
When Will TCS Pay the Dividend?
Eligible shareholders are expected to receive the ₹12 per-share dividend by October 30, 2026. The actual credit will depend on the shareholder’s registered bank and depository details and the applicable processing timelines.
For investors, the dividend announcement comes alongside the company’s September-quarter earnings. TCS reported consolidated net profit of about ₹13,884 crore, representing a year-on-year increase of roughly 15%. Revenue from operations stood at around ₹73,188 crore, up 11.22% from the year-ago period.
TCS Dividend Trend
The ₹12 payout is in line with TCS’s recent pattern of increasing or maintaining interim dividends. During FY26, the company declared ₹11 per share as an interim dividend for the second quarter. It also paid a ₹31 final dividend and, earlier in the year, announced an ₹11 interim dividend along with a ₹46 special dividend.
The latest announcement therefore keeps TCS among the major Indian IT companies that regularly return a portion of earnings to shareholders through dividends.
What Investors Should Know
A dividend announcement does not by itself indicate whether a stock is attractive to buy or sell. Investors generally consider several factors, including earnings growth, margins, future deal wins, valuation, dividend history and broader market conditions.
TCS is entering the latest results period amid a challenging environment for technology companies, with investors closely watching demand from overseas markets, artificial intelligence-related changes, margins and large contract wins. The dividend nevertheless provides another direct return to shareholders holding the stock on the relevant eligibility date.
With the record date set for October 14 and payment scheduled by October 30, investors can track their eligibility and dividend credit through their demat and bank records.
