Ramayana: Part 1, starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana, is generating strong interest ahead of its theatrical release on November 5, 2026. The mythological epic has reportedly crossed ₹20 crore in worldwide advance bookings, with trade estimates suggesting that it could collect more than ₹200 crore globally on its opening day, including paid preview screenings.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film is planned as the first instalment of a two-part cinematic adaptation of the Indian epic. Its large-scale production, prominent cast and release in premium theatrical formats have contributed to growing anticipation among audiences in India and overseas.
Ramayana Advance Booking Crosses ₹20 Crore Worldwide
According to reported ticket-sales figures, the film had generated approximately ₹20.5 crore in worldwide advance bookings by October 26. The total included around ₹11.81 crore from domestic advance sales, including block bookings, while overseas reservations contributed close to ₹19 crore in some separately reported tracking figures.
The domestic advance-booking tally included approximately 2.15 lakh tickets sold across 4,658 screens. Excluding block bookings, the reported collection stood at around ₹9.59 crore.
These figures indicate substantial early interest, although advance-booking totals can change as more cinemas open reservations and additional shows are added. Different tracking services may also report varying totals depending on the markets and booking categories they include.
The film is scheduled to reach cinemas worldwide on November 5, leaving the makers additional time to build momentum before its release.
Hindi Version Leads Domestic Ticket Sales
The Hindi version is currently responsible for the largest share of domestic advance bookings. Reported figures put its collection at approximately ₹10.16 crore across 4,269 shows.
The Kannada-dubbed version follows, contributing around ₹1.27 crore through 335 shows. Its early performance may partly reflect the presence of Yash, who became widely recognised through the KGF franchise and plays Ravana in the upcoming epic.
The Telugu version has also begun recording advance sales, although its reported contribution remains considerably smaller than that of the Hindi and Kannada versions.
Maharashtra has emerged as a major contributor to domestic bookings, followed by Delhi. Premium screening formats are also attracting interest, with IMAX bookings accounting for a notable portion of reported advance revenue.
The availability of IMAX 3D and other premium formats could help increase ticket revenue, particularly where audiences pay higher prices for specialised screenings.
Why the Film Is Targeting a ₹200 Crore Opening
Trade projections suggest that Ramayana: Part 1 could collect more than ₹200 crore worldwide on its opening day, including paid previews scheduled for November 4.
Domestic earnings are projected to provide a substantial share of the total, while overseas markets are expected to contribute significantly. North America has been an important market for advance reservations, with the United Kingdom and Australia also registering bookings.
These figures remain estimates rather than confirmed box-office results. The final opening will depend on ticket sales closer to release, audience response, screen availability and the film’s performance across international markets.
The Thursday release also places the film ahead of the Diwali period, which could support attendance during the extended opening weekend.
Star-Studded Cast and Two-Part Release Plan
Alongside Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash, the film features Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. The ensemble also includes Arun Govil, Lara Dutta, Kajal Aggarwal, Vivek Oberoi, Rakul Preet Singh and several other actors in supporting roles.
The production brings together composer A. R. Rahman and international film composer Hans Zimmer for its music. The project is backed by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in association with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations.
The second instalment is scheduled for a theatrical release during Diwali 2027.
With worldwide advance sales already exceeding ₹20 crore, Ramayana: Part 1 has established an encouraging pre-release position. Whether it reaches the projected ₹200 crore opening, however, will become clear only when the film begins its theatrical run.
